We are working on helping the BMLSS community to develop Ecological Literacy by encouraging all members to engage in environmentally freindly actions on a daily basis.
The Eco Team also conducts special events such as:
Lug A Mug, where students are offered free hot chocolate if they bring their own mug, and the opportunity to buy a portable mug for a low price if they need a mug.
Earth Day Community Clean Up -each spring the Eco Team helps to organize this event. The entire BMLSS community gets out into the community and helps to clean the streets and neighborhoods of Bracebridge.
Special Events: Annual Participation in the TLDSB Eco Summit, Awareness raising initiatives such as Participation in the Mothers Against Climate Change Campaign, and presenting a speech on climate change to David Suzuki at the Character Education Conference at Deerhurst Resort in October 2009.
